About the book DON JUAN U RATU
Armaninijev samosvojno koncipiran roman vratolomni je križanac fikcije i »fakcije«, novelistike i dokumentaristike. Armaninijevo pismo je uznemirujuće poput »polifonije glasova« kakvu iz autentičnih iskaza obezimenjenih svjedoka, nobelovka Svetlana Aleksijevič nastoji ugraditi u svoju prozu. Ipak, postoji jedna krucijalna razlika između ta dva naizgled srodna pristupa stvarnosnoj građi. Armaninijev Don Juan u ratu, dok propituje donhuanske (ali i donkihotovske) teme ukorijenjene u književnoj pod(svijesti) zapada, zapravo progovara o novovjekom padu u svijet čistoga nasilja u kojem, riječima autora, a na tragu donkihovštine »sama povijest događanja svjedoči o padu u ludilo, o zaboravu svake prave viteške geste, najprije prema protivnicima, ženama, djeci, starcima ili politički obespravljenima«. Armanini se već bavio temom holokausta upuštajući se u analizu čovječanstva kao »kolektivnog tijela bez pamćenja«. Sada pak, u novome romanu, otvara se tema nasilja kroz dominantne narative poput onoga medijskog. Nasilju se pristupa kao ratnoj, ali i kao medijskoj manipulaciji narativima. (Sibila Petlevski)
