About the book SARAJEVO - GUIDE BOOK
In no way is Sarajevo a small city that would emphasize its mounumentals to draw attention to itself, It is probably one of the most unique European cities, an outpost of the Orient which, despite its constant mixing with the West, has retained its oriental color even more purely than Europeanized Turky. What's most typical of Sarajevo is that one can't come across a single scene or pass a single street and fail to encounter the multitude of religions that live here side by side, discretely. Everywhere in the city, the slender minarets of mosques rise to heaven, the overarching domes and towers stand from churches of different faiths, while synagogues are of two types: those of the Spanish Jewry and the rest.
