About the book ŽIVOT TEATRA
Pozornišni ludak, teoretičar, anarhista. Zajedno sa Judith Malinom, osnivač The Living Theatre, pozorišne trupe koja je celim 1960-im dala onaj eksplozivni naboj po kojem ih pamtimo ili sanjarimo o njima (možda naivno, ali što je opet tako simptomatično za ovo naše osiromašeno i sada već zombijevsko vreme). Nema te ikone iz sveta muzike (koji je tada, jednim značajnim delom, bio zamajac opšte nekonformističke pobune) za koju The Living Theatre nije bio okidač ili signal da se, u svemu, ide još dalje: od detroitskih MC5, do Jima Morrisona, koji je učestvovao u nekim izvođenjima njihove najpoznatije postavke, “Paradise Now” i pratio sva ostala, koja su se odigrala u Los Anđelesu i San Francisku. Ali, uticaj, poruke i teren delovanja The Living Theatre bili su mnogo širi (nisu bili aktivni samo u SAD, već i u Francuskoj, Brazilu i drugde). Julian Beck se istakao i kao vrlo elokventni filozof oslobođenja, što na vrlo ubedljiv način potvrđuje upravo ova knjiga (ključna, kada je reč o ideji The Living Theatre).
